HTML TO APK

HTML to APK — Turn Your Website Into a Real Android App

You built a website with HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Now you want it on Google Play as a native-looking Android app. Converting HTML to APK used to mean learning Android Studio, writing Java wrappers, and configuring Gradle. With SaasToStore, you skip all of that — provide your HTTPS URL, and get a signed .aab and APK in minutes. Your files are still on your computer? Start with the section just below: it takes a few minutes and costs nothing.

HTML files on your computer? Put them online first

SaasToStore builds your app from a public HTTPS address, not from files: the app opens your site, so your site has to be online. If your HTML, CSS and JavaScript are still in a folder on your computer, putting them online takes a few minutes and costs nothing. Check two things first: the folder has an index.html at its root — that is the page the app opens — and links between your pages are relative (about.html, not a path on your own disk).

  1. Option A — Netlify Drop

Drag the folder onto the Netlify Drop page. Your site is live at once, at an address ending in .netlify.app. Create a free account so it stays online.

  2. Option B — Cloudflare Pages

Create a Pages project, choose to upload your files directly, and drop the folder. The address ends in .pages.dev. Free account.

  3. Option C — GitHub Pages

Put the files in a GitHub repository and turn on Pages in its settings. The address ends in .github.io. Free for public repositories.

  4. Then — paste the address into SaasToStore

Paste the HTTPS address and launch the build. Later, when you change a page, upload the folder again: the app shows the new version without a new build.

What does HTML to APK mean?

An APK (Android Package Kit) is the file format Android uses to install apps. Converting HTML to APK means wrapping your web content — HTML, CSS, JavaScript — inside an Android container that behaves like a native app. The result installs from Google Play, shows in the app drawer, supports push notifications, and runs fullscreen without a browser bar. SaasToStore produces both an APK for direct install and a signed .aab (Android App Bundle) that Google Play requires for publishing.

How to convert your HTML site

  1. 1. Check your URL

Your website must be served over HTTPS. Any hosting works — Netlify, Vercel, GitHub Pages, shared hosting, or a VPS. Run the free PWA checker on SaasToStore to verify compatibility.

  2. 2. Configure your app

Choose your app name, package ID (e.g. com.yourname.yourapp), and upload an icon. SaasToStore handles the splash screen, status bar color, and orientation settings automatically.

  3. 3. Build

Hit Build. SaasToStore wraps your site using Capacitor or TWA technology — producing a signed .aab and APK in under 2 minutes. The keystore is generated and stored securely for future updates.

  4. 4. Publish to Google Play

Download the .aab and upload it to Google Play Console, or connect your account and let SaasToStore publish for you. Your HTML site is now a Play Store app.

What you get in the build

  • Signed .aab + APK

Both formats ready — .aab for Google Play, APK for direct distribution or testing.

  • Secure keystore

Your signing key is generated once, encrypted, and reused for all updates. You never lose it.

  • Fullscreen experience

No browser chrome. Your site runs edge-to-edge, indistinguishable from a native app.

  • Push notifications

Send push notifications to your users via Firebase Cloud Messaging — included in SHIP.

  • Multi-store publishing

Beyond Google Play — publish the same app to Amazon Appstore, Samsung Galaxy Store, and more.

  • Desktop builds included

From the same URL, also build Windows (.msi), macOS (.dmg), and Linux (.AppImage) desktop apps.

Do you need a PWA for this to work?

No. Any HTTPS website can be converted to an APK. However, if your site has a service worker and a web app manifest, you get extra benefits: offline support, installability, and a smoother TWA integration with no address bar. If your site does not have these, SaasToStore uses Capacitor instead, which wraps any URL without requiring PWA features. Both paths produce a valid, signed app.

HTML to APK vs native development

Building natively means months of development, a Kotlin or Java codebase to maintain, and separate release cycles. Converting your existing HTML site takes 30 minutes and costs a one-time €39. You keep your web stack, deploy updates by updating your website, and your app reflects changes instantly. For content sites, SaaS dashboards, internal tools, and portfolio apps, the web wrapper approach is faster, cheaper, and simpler to maintain.

Compatible with any web technology

Static HTML files, React, Vue, Next.js, WordPress, Webflow, Bubble, Framer — if it runs in a browser, it can become an APK. SaasToStore does not care about your tech stack. It wraps the rendered output, not your source code. Single-page apps, multi-page sites, and server-rendered pages all work the same way.

Pricing

SHIP is €39 one-time — your branding, Android, iOS and desktop builds, 7 stores, push notifications, and the build + 3 updates per platform. There is no monthly subscription. You pay once, and your app is yours forever. A free build with SaasToStore branding is also available to test the output before purchasing.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert a local HTML file to APK?+

SaasToStore requires a public HTTPS URL. Host your HTML files on any web server — Netlify, Vercel, GitHub Pages, or shared hosting — then use that URL to build your APK.

Is the APK the same as what Google Play distributes?+

Google Play uses the .aab (Android App Bundle) format, not raw APK. SaasToStore produces both — the .aab for Play Store submission and the APK for direct testing or sideloading.

Will my app work offline?+

If your HTML site has a service worker that caches content, yes — the app works offline. Without a service worker, the app requires an internet connection, just like your website.

Do I need to know Java or Kotlin?+

No. SaasToStore handles all the native Android configuration — Gradle, signing, manifest. You only provide your URL and app settings.

Can I update my app after publishing?+

Yes. If your website content changes, the app reflects those changes automatically. For icon or name changes, rebuild and upload a new .aab — your keystore is reused so Google Play accepts the update.

What is the difference between APK and AAB?+

APK is the traditional Android install format. AAB (Android App Bundle) is the newer format required by Google Play since 2021 — it produces optimized APKs per device. SaasToStore gives you both.

Can I publish to stores other than Google Play?+

Yes. With SHIP, you can also publish to Amazon Appstore, Samsung Galaxy Store, and Microsoft Store. Desktop builds for Windows, macOS, and Linux are also included.

How long does the build take?+

Typically under 2 minutes. You receive a download link as soon as the build completes.
